Vintage & Lace loves putting together custom intimate beach weddings on the Big Island that are more unique then your average experience! For this couple, we chose a simple fabric draping and natural tropical florals to accent the beautiful landscape of Kukio Beach, an excellent beach wedding location on Hawaii Island! www.vintageandlace.com
For her intimate Hawaii Destination Wedding, Christina’s main request was for me to give her something truly one-of-a-kind and somewhat reminiscent of a window display that might be seen in vintage-chic stores like Anthropologie. This really gave me the freedom to let my creativity go wild in designing the perfect piece! I came up with this totally unique Vintage & Lace “driftwood chandelier” idea as an alternative to an arbor or arch to frame her wedding without boxing her in to the wedding norm. We sourced the driftwood right here on the Big Island island and linked the pieces together to create a multiple tier layer that would allow the florist to really create some unique arrangements to accent the piece. I just love creative projects like this and can’t wait to customize more one-of-a-kind wedding designs! —Rachael
This lovely couple wanted a sweet, simple ceremony that incorporated their family. They didn’t want any of the fuss of a big wedding and so decided to escape to the Big Island of Hawaii. I helped them find the perfect public beach for their intimate Hawaii wedding. Congrats to a darling pair!
Planning, Coordinating and Designing weddings on the Big Island is always such a privilege and this one has to be one of my all time favorites. Kendee had exquisite taste and brainstorming with her on ways to create a chic-beachy style that wasn’t predictable or cheesy was so fun. We found those adorable little pink sea urchin place card holders and decided to mimic the same texture in the pearl colored chargers. We also opted to add little pops of pale blue to add a little intrigue to her mostly white and pink palette. From her stationary to her necklace to her shoes and linens, every detail was just perfection! It also helped that we found the ideal oceanfront luxury estate right in Kona for her venue. The ceremony took place on the lawn just steps from the waves while the reception was perched up on the lanai next to a gorgeous infinity pool and under the eves of beautiful ohia branches that we opted to accentuate with sweet twinkle lights. Though her wedding was just about 30 people, we made it the gorgeous, exquisite event she had always dreamt of!
